    Shadow face

Have you got a table lamp or something? Your best bet is to light yourself from one side and take a picture. Without flash. No point trying to Photoshop something that's easy to photograph.

advice please on wacom Intuos vs Cintiq for a newbie

A larger tablet is not necessarily better. Unless you like to make really broad gestures, I would suggest a smaller tablet suits you find. I have a Graphire (they were the cheap range before Bamboo) and an Intuous 3, both in the smallest size. I love them both (in some ways, I prefer the...

    Need help! PLEASE!

I don't know the answer, but as nobody else has replied, I'll make a suggestion. Sometimes when you unload and reload a program, your personal preferences and some other files are not removed, and they may cause problems. See if you can find anything related that didn't get deleted when you...

"The Realm"-Photo Manipulation...What do you think?

Sometimes I do a check of the Web for designs similar to mine. But I only do it after I create the graphic. If I came up with it on my own, I'm not bothered if I'm not the first (my avatar, for example, has been done to death). It's not often I come up with something absolutely, positively...

"The Realm"-Photo Manipulation...What do you think?

I'd put a little spherical distortion on the landscape (filter >> distort >> spherize). Other'n that, it looks good. Believe me, the guy who did the wallpaper wasn't the first to come up with the globe/hands visual :)

Any Idea to Desing Old Swag Fabric in Photoshop CS2.

Is it the texture that's the hard part? I think I would start with a dirty texture and draw the swag on top of it. Or, rather, draw a swag and impose something like a grungy parchment texture to it.

    Photoshop Grandma

Welcome to the forum, Jackieo. I haven't built my Photoshop website yet. I feel so obliged to come up with some stunning sample images, it's given me wicked Photoshopper's block.

    Happy New Year!

Happy 2011 from Jollye Olde Englande. If you get a chance to see the replay, they really spent some money on fireworks in London this year. Great display. We're out in the country, but our local villages sent up a few firecrackers and rang the church bells.

    Pen Tablets

I have a Wacom Graphire and an Intuous 3. Graphire was their cheap range before the Bamboo, and I must say I prefer it in some ways. The Intuous has more sensitivity and a rubberized coating...but that coating is wearing away on the surface where I scribble most. SOME kind of tablet is...

    simulate low light levels/purkinje effect?

The new vibrance adjustment might help. It's like saturation, but it excludes reds.

You multiple images and then put them together using a program that makes animated .gif files. And that program is probably not Elements, I'm guessing.

Right. That just looks like an animated .gif file. My old Photoshop would allow you to stitch animated .gifs together using Image Ready. Not sure about Elements. There are lots of free and shareware programs that'll let you build animated .gifs, with varying levels of control. So you'd use...
