Best Way to Clean Up this Photo

Thank you so much! That worked great. I totally forgot about the Healing Brush. I'm not too good with the clone tool, but fortunately the healing brush did the job. Thanks for the tip about making a selection so the colors don't run into each other. I was having a problem with some of that...

Best Way to Clean Up this Photo

Hi, I need suggestions on the best way to clean up this flower photo. I'm referring to the brown spots and streaks at the top and inside of the petals. (Click on it for larger detail.) Thanks for any tips. ginger

Placing Circle Stroke Over Another Circle

Oops! I just noticed that I had the feather set to 200! No wonder I was getting that message. So that leaves me with question #2. Thanks! ginger

Placing Circle Stroke Over Another Circle

Hi, Yes, but I'm running into a couple of issues: 1. I'm getting a message: "Warning. No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible." 2. How do you move and resize the circle to fit exactly over the underlying circular stroke? Thanks for your help! ginger

Placing Circle Stroke Over Another Circle

Hi gurus, I have a circle that I want to place another circular stroke over to clean up the edges of the underlying circle. How can I do this (in Photoshop CS5)? Thanks, ginger

    Gimp to Photoshop

Hi Ibclare, I finally did receive the file in .psd format, and the layers were intact with the transparent background. I think the artifacts in the red are from the jpg compression (they're not in the .psd file), and if I were using this at a large size I would definitely redo it, but it's...

    Gimp to Photoshop

You guys are so generous! Thank you for your offers. First, I'm going to see if they can export it as .psd with the layers intact. I may take one of you up on your offers though if this doesn't work. Thanks again! ginger

    Gimp to Photoshop

Thanks Zeealax. I forgot about .png since I rarely use it. Would it preserve a nice smooth edge against a dark background? Stufflol, I've attached the logo since you asked. Thanks everyone, ginger

    Gimp to Photoshop

Hi All, I have a customer who has a logo created in GIMP. They sent me the logo on a white background in .jpg format. The website design will have the logo on a black gradient background, thus I need to remove the white background from the logo. My attempts so far have left me with jagged...

    Can't Achieve This Effect

Hi Novo, Yes, I know that the animation needs to be done in a Flash authoring program. My question was really how to get the blurred effect of the bars with the semi-transparent border. I've given it some thought and I think I might be able to achieve it by blurring the photo in Photoshop...

    Can't Achieve This Effect

Hi Paul, I need a more subtle, smooth animation, but it's good to know that CS5 has some animation capabilities. ginger

    Can't Achieve This Effect

Hmmm, can't get it to look like your first image. As for the animation I can get smooth animation with Swishmax (creates .swf files like Flash). I'll keep working on it. Thanks again! ginger

    Can't Achieve This Effect

I actually copied your photo and tried it with yours and can't figure out why the soft light mode makes it lose all opacity. Also, the stroke only shows up if I don't change the blending mode. Aside from that, I know how to animate using Swishmax, but it sounds like I won't be able to...

    Can't Achieve This Effect

Hey, thanks Hoogle. That looks like just what I want, but a couple of problems: 1. I do actually want to animate it, so I need the bar to be a separate .png (or gif I guess). 2. Aside from that ... I followed your instructions, but didn't quite come up with the same thing. When I set the...

    Can't Achieve This Effect

Hi, I'm pretty new to Photoshop (just bought CS5 a few months ago) and I'm trying to achieve the effect shown in the url referenced below. (I'm referring to the semi-transparent vertical bars that move back and forth over the photos.) I can't seem to get the "frosted/blurred look". I've...
