Sharpen a license plate - help solve a crime, please!

I've dealt with similar requests like yours many times and in most cases it turned out that people didn't tell the whole truth. What you fail to understand is that there are people out there who use this for the wrong reasons. I therefor see it as my responsibility to be very suspicious...

    Marquee problem

And if that doesn't work, try resetting your preference file. In Windows you do this by quickly holding the Shift+Ctrl+Alt buttons all at the same time immediately(!) after you click on the Photoshop shortcut to start Photoshop (if you're on a Mac, use this instead: Command+Option+Shift). A new...

    Marquee problem

I can't replicate the problem that you're having, even after rotating the layer everything stays just the same. Try the following to see if that helps:

Sharpen a license plate - help solve a crime, please!

What I don't get is this; if you're so eager to catch the bad guy, then why are you uploading such a small image, when all modern digital cameras shoot way bigger than this? Why resize it when some little common sense would tell you that it makes the plate less readable? And if someone breaks...

    Refine mask problem

Paul, TinyEye is outdated, it hardly finds anything and a lot of links are dead. Use Google Images instead and click on the little camera icon inside its search box and you'll thank me forever. More here: Search by Image · Inside Google Search

How do I go about making this simple image better?

It's best done with vectors and since most beginners have a hard time with them, I've done it for you. The PSD is also attached below the image, in case you want to make a modification. Note that I only drew one half and mirrored the other.

    Refine mask problem

I grabbed a different image that was larger to prove a point and I was hoping that he would figure it out first, but I don't mind that you did instead. You have a keen eye Paul! Mind you, it's not the complete solution to grab an image that is larger, I used a CMYK image and copied...

    Actions Action with interval time

Thanks, but it doesn't quite answer my question Hylian. Can you explain to me why you would like to upload a photo (or more than one) to your server every 1 minute?

    Autoshape Drawings Pixelated Edges

Sure. In this example I'm clipping a photo with some clouds, but it could be anything, not just a Solid Color adjustment layer like I've shown in my previous post, but also another shape or even a levels or curves adjustment layer. Basically you right click on the empty area on the right side...

    Layer issue

So you did this: - create a new document - drop the background layer on the new layer icon to create a second layer. - you clicked only ONCE with the brush tool on this duplicated layer and the layers palette then looks the way it shows in the screenshot below? If that's the case, then your...

    Trouble making buttons for website

Sorry, my mistake. There are lots of ways to do this, I'm just showing you one: - create the basic button with the shape tool - apply the necessary layer style effects - double click on the word Effects in your layers palette to change the blending options as shown in the second screenshot...

    Layer issue

Can you do a simple test for me Deborah. Open a new empty file, drop the Background layer on the Create a new layer icon as shown in this screenshot, make sure that this new layer named Background copy is the active layer (it will have a blue background if you use CS5). Now grab the Brush Tool...

    dark yellow shadows

Try cloning a similar area instead. Make sure you zoom in and work in small steps and make your brush size smaller if you want to work in more detaill. The best way to clone is this: - select the clone tool - set the option marked in the screenshot to All Layers - add a new empty layer on top...

The lighting is actually the main issue here. It can be done, but it just requires a little more time and skill to fix.

    Gimp Help Please

My daughter started with Pixlr (free online image editor) about a year ago. I never knew she was using it. She made some seriously good stuff with it. As a matter of fact, it made it quite easy for her to make the move to Photoshop once she wanted more. I attached a little montage to show...
