"Backing up" photoshop prefs, brushes, actions?

I'm going to need to reinstall PS and some system software so... my question is: is there a method to retain prefs and things like brushes and actions???? Thanks Jeff

Client wants RAW files - is it possible to save any adjustments to those files?

I'm, frankly, hoping that they DON'T know that. ;) But I still can't create a 'tweaked' file, so... guess that's that. Sucks to turn over your work straight out of camera.

Client wants RAW files - is it possible to save any adjustments to those files?

Did just that... DNG, different location. Sigh. Nothing. Cropped extreme, colour balance shift, etc. And nada. Are you on a mac?

Client wants RAW files - is it possible to save any adjustments to those files?

Nope, not working. I make changes, go through the save dialog box, save as DNG and the file looks the same. (shrug) but if I save it as a psd file (did it by mistake) I see it looks different.

Client wants RAW files - is it possible to save any adjustments to those files?

I don't, obviously, often (ever) deliver RAW files to a client. They want RAW files to do their own processing. Is there a method in Adobe Camera RAW to 'save adjustments' to the files at all? Or am I truly stuck into handing over as-shot images? (blech) THanks Jeff

Transparent BG, need to select EXACTLY to edges of photo???

Thanks, but brushing away doesn't seem 'exact'. Remember I need to the pixel. I'll just marquee and adjust for now. Jeff

Transparent BG, need to select EXACTLY to edges of photo???

I tried the flatten and then 'trim' the outside area but that didn't work. I guess I'll just have to marquee it and then transform selection right to the pixels... sigh.

Transparent BG, need to select EXACTLY to edges of photo???

Hi, not sure how to explain properly: I'm making a panorama 360 and the software guy has said he needs edges to overlap pixels from the opposite edge. ie: I'm copying stuff from the R side over to the L side and then blending it in but so that the far left side is exactly the same pixels as the...

Making a 'larger than landscape mode' panorama?

Has anyone got experience shooting 'wider' vertically when doing panoramas and using the stitching in Photoshop CS5? ie: if I shoot frames in panoramic and then do a slight tilt up pass and a slight tilt down pass, when I auto align the layers in stitching, will Photoshop have any clue as to...

    Business card "bleed" edges?

Thanks, folks. Yes, I would want 'my image' to extend right to whatever printable edge there really is. So enlarging the canvas, I don't think is the best option here. But good info for those needing to create a border, for instance.

    what color technique is this?

Also, not sure of your 'level' of expertise, but a large portion of portrait shoots is the lighting used in the shoot itself... (ie: 'soft lighting' vs 'hard lighting') Jeff

    Business card "bleed" edges?

Hi there - first time working on business cards and I need to provide a pdf using card size (3.5 x 2) with 1/4" bleed on the edges... how the heck do I leave some grids/lines on my document so I'm 'safe'? I guess I could manually do it with ruler and careful measurements/drawing of lines...

Arranging layers when making a panoramic / 360 composite ?

Hi - not sure exactly how to word it for searches but my specific 'issue' is that I'm working on some 360 panoramic images for use in a virtual 360 tour (so it reallllly doesn't matter in the end) and I'm looking for a way to 'tell' Photoshop which image I want to be centre-most when looking at...

Greetings from the Great White North

Say CHEEEEZE! Hi, everyone. My name's Jeff and I'm a photoholic. Been 'playing' with a camera since I was a kid and dove right in again a couple years ago after not taking it too seriously for awhile. Now, almost three years later, I've spent 'way too much' as we all have on gear and...
