    Used ctrl + J and switched of the background layerbut same, its still savbed with the white background. It's a jpg file.. if that is what you mean by format?

    Hi All, I've downloaded a photo from the net and then opened with photoshop, its an image with a white background so using magic wand tool I selected the white areas and deleted them. After this I went to save for web and have saved as PNG and GIF format with the transparency box checked but...
