    most natural way to think of image size/resolution in order to get quality print outs is to get it in natural size ( for A4 size paper for example it will be 21 cm x 29,7 cm) ant resolution on 300 dpi.

    open your image if rulers are not shown hit ctrl+R leftclick-drag into image to make horizontal or vertical guidelines. in your particular case i would make a blank "template"image, make the guidelines and then drag-drop one by one images of the shoes onto it and then make them fit the same size.

    i believe there's application from corel called DESIGNER Technical Suite, made for that kind of drawings. i don't have experience with it, but someone else may be able to help you out. autodesk has got professional level applications for the same task.
