    Indeed i agree. I use it alot in photoshop, but then one day it doesnt work! i thought i was loosing my mind!! so i tried other methods of achieving my goal. you are right it is not the same the thing to mirror or to flip. i stand corrected! thanks anyway 8))

    It would appear that i did ask a stupid question! i just had a break for a while, and then when i came back, i solved the problem using the the multiply mode of the gradient tool. but still if anyone has any different ways im all ears! thanks

    Is there any easy way of combining two linear gradient masks to blend an image on two sides, i.e bottom and Right. (see picture!) thanks please forgive me if im asking a stupid question, its just i cant find any quick way to do this!

    Hi All! is it possible to use an existing layer as a layer mask? i.e im trying to use a dirt map from a file to mask some moss, but when i add a layer mask and try and copy the dirt map into the mask channel, i get no success. sorry if that sounds a bit cryptic but im terrible at...

    Im sorry, i didnt realise i was in the wrong place to post these sort of messages. I shall resist the temptation in future! oh and thanks for the advice, its good to know different ways to get the results i require.
