I notice that some boards will have a forum strictly to allow their members to blow off steam or get things off their chest. I was thinking we should have something like that.

Lately, after seeing a few things on the board, and not to mention all the flak Chester has been getting, I thought it might be a good idea to have a place to unwind, ya know .... a place to just let it go.

I only say this because, in all honesty, we are all human and not the "nicey-nicey" "goody-two-shoe" kind of people that some (no names here) like to always lecture about.

Now before you shoot this idea down, or lecture once again on how "we should all be as nice as plastic mannequins", take a moment to think about the benefits of having such a place .... it can be one place on the board where you can really let it all go, not worry about retaliation, and then walk away with a deep breath and go, "There .... I feel better now."

And since this will be a thread strictly for blowing off steam, everyone will know that going in, so if anyone goes to the thread and gets all bent out of shape about what they read there, well ... then that would be their problem.

So what do y'all say? Sound like a good idea?

It's not my cup 'o tea to participate in planned incivility. There's already too much of that drivel on internet forums, fostered by people who wouldn't say boo in person but are mighty Flame Warriors. This forum is for Photoshop discovery, teaching, learning, and sharing. Psychic relief belongs elsewhere IMO.

In a word... no.

So forget anything even remotely like that happening here. This is a graphics community, not a public debate forum. If people need to "blow off steam", go for a jog or play an online game or something.

And as for what's been going on around here lately with all the trouble makers... if they don't knock it off i'm banning the lot of em; and anyone who plays along with their games. And then i'll start enforcing much stricter rules around here.

This site and Forum are created by me from long hours of diligent efforts... MY personal time is invested here guys... have you no respect for that fact? Would you rather i close the place down and start charging for access? I know *i* wouldn't like that myself.

It's all about simple respect.
Respect for my time and work put into this whole circus, and respect for the other members that "choose" to populate this community. We're a group you guys... a unit... and some of us are almost close enough to think of each other as family.
We have one of the nicest, most helpful communities i've ever seen on the Web. Don't ruin that by trying to turn this place into one of those "other" types of communities. Because trust me... *i* won't let that happen. I'll shut it down first.

Mark and Welles
You just read my mind. Thank you for giving this kind of answer.
What I know about PS I have to say thanks to Mark and PSG.
I extremely respect you.

Mark, my sentiments exactly. :} I don't think people retaliated or commented back out of a lack of respect, but rather the opposite, we are all a little reluctant to see this wonderful community drift the way of others, but its hard to remember that you can't teach others respect, now matter how much we might want to ;\

Enough said. Sorry, Mark, I meant no disrespect toward you or your community here. Bad idea ..... (slap-slap).

:} :} :} ... Welles, theKeeper, Rick, ljiljana and Bubble I absolutely agree with each and every one of your comments ... thank you .. :righton: :righton: :} :} :} .... and C9Mouse and I thank you for causing the issue of harmony and helpfulness at PSG to be brought to the forefront :} :} :}

Hi Ian! Great to see you're back!
Man, we missed you!
Just like we missed Vee, Rich and the others,...

We do what we can, and, as every difficulty is a challenge, it's great to see friends coming back when we need them desperately!

[excited]

Gurus and Guruettes i couldn't agree more !!! :} :} :}

This community is the friendliest and most helpful one on the web so please keep it this way.

Welcome back Namvet :righton:

I once was very active in another forum that served to teach me a great deal about computers...someone came up with the very same idea and soon another Thread emerged (along these very same lines) and all hell broke loose and people who had a High degree of respect for one another suddenly hated each other.

In my opinion the creation of the "Debater's Corner" totally destroyed all the good works done by the creator of the boards I'm referring to....and all the other people who helped to make it what it was....

I go back there occasionally and lurk and I find that the former ambience of those boards are gone forever...I see the same Buttheads arguing about the same worthless garbage that they were arguing about a year ago when this new thread was created

They all despise one another now and take their poison out on the unsuspecting newbies that manage to wander into the site...

I don't want that type of thing to happen here...I love this place and most of the regulars who come here for the same reasons I do.

Therefore I throw my hat into the ring withThe Keeper and welles, rick, eric, namvet,Lilly,Bubble, and Nikkie and say no to this idea for the reasons I've listed above!

To you Mark...The sign of a good Leader is to make the hard decisions and to have the courage of your convictions...I salute you for your stand on this issue..

warm regards to all,

ranger72

No place like that would be needed here. I just go here: http://forum.deviantart.com/community/life/
:D

And like mark said... this is a graphics community ;) Good idea though. :)

Erik .. thanks, understand what you are saying ... but I will remain a very casual observer of some posts for the time being ...
Nikkie ... thanks for the welcome back ... not happening yet ... perhaps soon ... time will tell

Gee, thanks. lol It was a bad idea, but then like the saying here goes, "No question is a dumb question." Didn't hurt to ask.

[confused]

I understand, Ian, and I (we) respect that.
Believe me: Mark, the squad and most members want everything to get back to normal.
We found the nest, and who's behind it, andwe'll do everything we can to get things back to Photoshop, and fun.

:righton:

Erik That's good news and i quite agree with you,let the things go back to normal :righton: :righton:
Thanks MODS & Mark :righton:

Namvet maybe i responded to fast but that's because i want the old board back of course i respect your decision ;) :righton:

B7 I'm with ya all the way Mark! :righton: I hope things do improve.... I've left the board several times in disgust, but return hoping civility has won out and the fun in learning will return.

I'm sure none here are plastic goody-goody manikins, c9Mouse...and I am certainly not one...but neither do I find it necessary to put others down or be rude just for kicks...that's for trolls. There are plenty of flame forums elsewhere for them.
