Thank you for replying.
I gave up using Photoshop to add dates (although I can do it) because of the problem I have with saving the file once I have opened it in Photoshop. I am now using Snagit because I can add a date to my photos and then move it around the photo at will. I have 400-500 personal photos, and over the last few years I added date that the photo was taken to the filenames .
