Got the idea from a show I was watching on the Science channel. Can't remember the name of it anymore, spent too much time on this image.

I quite like your composite and looked at it several times. I knew something is wrong but couldn't put my finger on it.
It's the perspective of the lake and the mountains that don't match. Difficult for me to describe, so I made some adjustments on your version for you to compare. I hope you don't mind.

That does look better. I was having the same problem. I knew something was off, but just couldn't figure it out.

It looks good but a little bit of water distortion on the shore would be nice.
