Hello and welcome to PSG.

Looks like the "thing" was opened using Place embeded (your right Ged) and it doesn't appear to be centered in it's layer.

Double click the layer to open and edit the smart object.

To center- Select the layer, Select your Move Tool, hit Cmd/Cntrl + A, then use the Alignment icons in the tools options bar the at the top. Then hit Cmd/Cntrl + D to deselect.

You could also use the Crop Tool to make the transparent area smaller, then center the "thing" again. This will give you the room to move the "thing" around.

Save the and close.
