Broken effect

Im looking for a tutorial on how to make this broken effect of this facebook button.

I just need to make the effect be able to put inside other things.

Couldnt find something in youtube!

easiest way would be to download a splatter brush or custom shape

... then make a gradient layer with the shading colors you want and clip it to the shape. To do this, make a layer above the shape, create your gradient, hold down the alt key and click between the two layers. This creates a clipping layer which basically means that it is clipped around the contours of the shape beneath it. This can be used for a lot of things and you'll often see it done above a text layer.

There is also what looks like the use of an inner shadow around the contours of the tear. It may well be that this is a handrawn shape, but it could still utilize the gradient layer and inner shadow.
