Tangentially, recent news is going to impact on Photoshop users.
? Nikon announced that they're ceasing production of film cameras, except for one high-end one. Large format cameras are going to go away, and this leaves me wonderering how the heck a photographer is going to be able to adjust the parallels in a perspective shoot of a tall building, as large format cameras were where you went for adjustable focal planes. Nikon is going digital big-time.
? Minolta is getting out of the market entirely; no more cameras digital or film, and no more film after reporting a multi-million yen loss posted last quarter. They're selling most plants to Sony, who will probably put malware in the memory cards 8D
? Agfa is quiting the film and paper business.
? Kodak is downsizing film production (which has been their life blood since 2000 B.C.) apparently targeting the newbie digital camera market for revenue.
? Fuji says they're continuing to support camera film, but are easing out of the camera market.
? Hasselblat is retooling to get into the 3D movie business. They're mounting 2 miniMacs in a camera array.
