Hi,
it is easy, go to Select -> Color range, point the red characters, be sure to set Fuzziness very low. Then use white Brush tool and paint it white. Of course you can use layers to do it non destructively.

Here you go, of course it cannot be seen on white background since your background is transparent, so it is white on white ;-)

Now I see the text a little since forum background is a a bit greyish.

Hi thanks for that, i just put in on to the back ground but the white text is all distorted? would you be able to do it with layers for me please? im crap as photoshop

add a hue saturtion adjustment layer change the channel to red and then move the lightness\darkness slider all the way to the right it will make everything red go white.



Obviously if you are not using the dark forum theme then you will not see the text

Oh and make sure you mask out th adjustment layer to exclude the symbol with the logo you do this by painting in black on the mask.

Lasso the text, cut it to a new layer, make new layer above this, fill with white, clip to text layer.

It is a PNG so instead of messing around with tricky selections just create a new layer fill with white create clipping mask then erase it where you dont want it

Not disrespecting you answered first I was just trying to have a debate with clare on why she would go to the effort of a tricky selection when all you need to do is hold control and colick the layer preview ion to select everything smoothly and then use the subtract from selection to quickly remove the selection from everything apart from the vodafone.

But that will take about a min a hue saturation adjustment layer will take 20 seconds so you decide which works best for you.

And have you heard the phrase

Same applies to photoshop give them a file they get the image they want however they do not learn so will always be counting on other people.

Yep, exactly, that is why I always ask "how to do it". I described how I would do it even in this case and then gave him psd file where he can see both layers, mask and stored selection.

I am not stupid to doubt your solution is more effective than mine, but since I still do not know shortcuts very well ( I tend to forget and confuse those I do not use often enough ) I did not get it exactly, I saw your file, I am still trying to understand it ( I think it will come to me in the morning. I am pretty tired and sleepy right now and I have business presentation tomorrow in the office, so I quit for today ). I think selecting color range is better understood-able to beginners like me and him. Although I want to learn more and that's why I visit this forum. So thank you for understanding and help.

Got it exactly during breakfast without looking, since there is no background, selecting the whole layer selects just text and distant logo, logo can be easily wiped out, works due to transparent background, I was really dead yesterday evening :-D

There is nothing tricky about making a quick selection with the lasso and creating a new layer to clip the color to. It actually takes about the same time as selecting and erasing. Nothing tricky to it.
