Hi,

Google lead me the forum and I would like to know if this photo can be "fixed" ?

EuropeTrip2008-173.jpg

I've got photshop 7 but haven't got a clue how to use it, and when I try I just get so frustrated.

As you can see from the image one of the spans is in shade and spoils the picture. It would cost me a small fortune to go back to France to re-take the photo, so would like to know if it could be fixed ?

Any advice would be warmly welcomed.

Many thanks,
Graeme.

The answer to your question is, yes it can be fixed. Just not particularly easily. I've never touched photoshop 7, so I don't even know where to begin with giving you directions. I can however offer you this, if you want to take the easy way out:

It's mostly just copious amounts of cloning and healing, but it's as good as I can get it.

It's a quick fix but not technically correct...

The perspective is wrong because it's been cloned from one of the other pillars. You should be able to see through the gap like the original. You could try stretching the retouching (assuming it's done on separate layers) to the same shape as the original and mask out the gap. Don't get frustrated, there isn't always an easy answer, sometimes it's trial and error to see what works best. It's all part of the learning curve.

It would be nice to be able to do it myself. If someone could explain, in easy to understand steps how to do it, it would be apprciated.

Where's the best place to learn ? Bearing in mind I have no idea how to use photoshop 7. You tube, somewhere on this forum, where ??
