What would also help is what happens when you try and Save the file from PS. Do you get an error messsge, does it act like me it saved yet the file is not found etc. also, are you saving as a Joey? Does it save in any other format? Any extra clues you have or can try would help debug the issue. What color space is the image.

You can look in the I believe under the command File > Info command as well. Going by memory since I do not have your version of PS anymore.
