Hello.


Here's one of many ways.


Open your document.

Copy the original layer.

Add a layer mask.

Make a selection of the scrub top

Add a Black & White adjustment layer, clip it to the copy layer of the original.

Adjust until the scrub top as light as you can go...........here it's a light grey.

Double click your foreground color and this will open the "Color Picker"

Select the color of the sample.


Now open a new Solid Color Fill adjustment layer and fill with foreground color.

Clip the Solid Color Fill adjustment layer to the copied original layer above the Black & White adjustment layer.

Set blending option to Darken.
