Anyone have a good tutorial on chroming an object, not just text? I have a design, and also curved text created in Illustrator, but the tutorials on chrome are not working well.

Any thoughts?

Thanks! Jdm

I hear his voice, (German?) but I see nothing, and, unfortunately, QT (the latest!!!) once again needs a plugin that cannot be found on the Apple server.
He invites to download a codec, which I did, and I installed it, but no use.

And then they insist on buying QTPro!!!

Well, mate, you are one of the rare few people that have troubles with my tutorials. My newer video tutorials require the download of a codec that is not included in the Quicktime package (didn't check 6.5 yet though). You can download the decoder from download.com (the link on my site points to their server). There were around 1000 downloads of the decoder from my site alone and 99% of the time it works completely fine without any problems. Yet there can always be problems with decoders so I encourage you to reinstall both Quicktime and after that the Ensharpen decoder.

Btw: nor my voice nor I are german. I am Slovenian :}

Oh yeah ... and you should think about downloading QT Alternative ... it is a great replacement of the apple player :D

Besides the great chrome 3d effect that is part of Photoshopgurus, you might look at:

For some metal text effects:
http://teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/ps_tut_text.phpt
......These are not tutorials, but they might help you to understand how to make some chrome effects.

http://studio.adobe.com
.......Check out the Tools and Software section (middle panel) for all manner of actions, including chrome styles. Page 8 of 27 in styles has some chrome.

As to good chrome and metal tutorials in books is the Photoshop Down and Dirty Tricks.

I don't know if you mean for web buttons etc, but in case you do, this is interesting to read and try out for metallic buttons.
http://www.pegaweb.com/tutorials/web-design-and-adobe-photoshop-tutorials.htm

These might help. Also, do check out Google and type in "Photoshop 7 chrome"

Good luck
Tanya

Thank you

I shall try them all again, and then will post the original that I am having trouble with.

When I wrote curved text, it was text created on an arc.
