Colour Question after using Spyder

Hi I've calibrated my monitor using the spyder 4 Pro for the first time. I am just wandering what settings I should have in the 'Windows Color System Defaults' window now that I have calibrated with the spyder?? DO I -

A. Leave as sRGB 'default setting' ?
B. Use Prophoto as that is what I use in Photoshop?
C. Use the profile created by the Spyder

My primary use for the computer is Photoshop although I do use it for everything else (browsing web, films) My first thoughts is that you leave the setting as sRGB because you need that for everything else other than Photoshop like web etc. In that case does that mean that Photoshop ignores the Windows default? The most important thing is that I am editing colours correctly in Photoshop; that what I'm seeing is 'true'

I hope somebody can help me as I'm desperate to get colour sorted so I can get on with actually using Photoshop!!! Thank you in advance for any help :)

Hi Timcee....

I don't use Spyder but intend to with my new system . But I know there are a couple of guys here who do use it. You'll just have to wait a bit for them to be here.

Cheers.

I have a Spyder also. The profile created by the device is so your monitor displays colors properly, so that what you see, is what you get. Not relevant to other color settings. Use the profile the Spyder creates, that's what it's there for.

Use Color Proofing in PS to see how your colors may change with different devices and profiles. For example, I print with a specific paper on my printer, I can proof the color (custom setting) and load that profile and I get a real good representation of what I am going to get. I compared one I printed just last night to my screen and it was very close. Hope this helps.
Any ideas? Thanks

Maybe a little confusion here- your talking about in this screen

The default here is sRgb - I don't ever mess with this stuff.

Thank you ALB68!! Exactly what I wanted to know whether you leave that as it is, I thought you probably did. So once you have used the spyder you dont have to do anything else?? Obviously I've set up my colour in Photoshop to ProPhoto etc. Thanks

Right. If you will notice, on the first tab of Color Management, when you run the Spyder calibration, the Use my own profile checkbox is now checked and the profile is listed down below. You should be good to go.
