Many thanks for prompt help.  Your solution worked perfectly for single pictures.

Now I must try the method on multiple pictures scanned on my flatbed scanner. I want to find out if your solution works for a group of twisted images in a collage, i.e. for straightening them at one go, not one by one.  Hope I am being clear enough...
