Glad we could help. One piece of advice: after you create a path with the Pen tool, go into the Paths palette and save the path by giving it a name (the same way that you label a layer). If you don't save it, then the next time you use the Pen tool, it will delete the old path and start over with a new one.

I, too, learned Photoshop by trial & error, plus a million books, video tutorials and help from this forum. I've been at it for about 15 years and I'm still learning new things every day.
