Hello friends, I have a simple question and even though it looks so simple, it has been giving me a headache to do!
I have a black and white image and want to color it, but I'm having an issue with black colors. I will try to make an example here.
Imagine this image:

I know that if I create a new layer above and put it on multiply I can color just the white parts:

And that if I create a layer and put on lighten I can color just the black parts:

But if I create two layers and put on on lighten and one on multiply, the yellow lightens not only the blcak, but also the red:

I need a way to only lighten the black and only multiply the white and achieve this:

For this I used the magic wand to select the black and painted with yellow, but it would be too difficult to do this on a more complex image. I want to know this technique because I like to color manga pages, and I'm having trouble coloring the magma, wich should be red and yellow.
I want something like this:

It's exausting to select just the yellow with a 1px brush to paint this. There should be an easier way. Since I'm not and expert in photoshop like you guys, maybe I'm having trouble because I don't know the technique.
Thanks in advance!
