STEP 3

This is a fave filter whose textures I use as a base to create others - Alien Skin?s Eye Candy SWIRL filter.

With the Eyeball still selected, go to ASEC Swirl.

Whirlpool Setting - 55

Smear Length - 10

Twist - 8

Streak detail - 45

Uncheck Warp / Smooth

Hit the CHECK. Uh-uh, don?t deselect yet.

Doesn?t look like an eye, does it?

STEP 4

The secret weapon ? FILTER > BLUR > RADIAL BLUR. Select the ZOOM blur method ....  Amount -95 , Blur Method - Zoom , Quality - Best

I used a strong setting but to have something like my original image, use a lesser amount - say 40.

In case you want to create cross eyes, click in the box and drag the center to where you recon the pupil will be in relation to the cross-eyed eyeball position. Hit OK

Now were getting somewhere. The stronger the setting, a lighter ring band along the edge is created.  This is why I chose the eyeball in the first place to create the iris.

At this point, Sharpen the image, FILTER > SHARPEN > SHARPEN MORE to bring out more detail. Use Level controls to adjust color. You can even resize it ( CNTRL + T ) if you want to use the whole image or the center part for your iris or off-center for cross-eyes. Don?t include the band edge.

CNTRL + D to deselect.

What is our favorite program/app? (Hint - it begins and ends with the letter P)
