HI guys,

Been doing digital art for a while now ( some examples in my intro thread ) and i seam to be having issues with colors in color picker..

Here is my problem... So you know how you have the 2 main colors chosen at any one time, Default is Black and white. on the left hand side toolbar. I click on main color and up pops color picker, I choose a color based on what shows up in the color picker square.. To me.. the color in color picker box looks - dark brown... But when i actually start painting with it.. its ORANGE.. or not the dark brown color it looks in the small box indicating your color...

Is this making sense? Could my eyes be getting effected by the greys and other tones around the color box? making the color look darker/lighter/more saturated?

It's REALLLY irritating me! LOl because light and color is my weak point, im finding it hard to progress.

PS: im using the NON HUD color picker as my PC is too.. to be nice " Slow" ( understatement )

Use the eyedropper tool to read out the RGB values of the areas in question, or simply type in something like 128,128,128 as the RGB values in the color selection box, and then paint that color on a layer with normal blending mode and 100% opacity. I

f all three values are the same, no matter how they got there, you better be seeing a gray. If it doesn't look gray, but the numbers say that it should be, you either have a problem with your monitor, or the monitor color profile that is in use in your system.

Let us know what the numbers tell you.

is it just the paint brush this is happening on.

If so is your brush values set to normal onthe top brush menu

if it is not that blending mode have you activated a brush control that maybe has a hue effector in it or transfer mode.
