I was working on this as well!

I started with a pattern like this....
[ATTACH]53366[/ATTACH]

Added this......
[ATTACH]53367[/ATTACH]

Cleaned it up and trimmed it...
[ATTACH]53368[/ATTACH]

Finally, i trimmed it to this.....
[ATTACH]53369[/ATTACH]

Inverted it and made a selection.......
[ATTACH]53370[/ATTACH]

Then defined this as a pattern.

I then filled a layer with green (minus the texture)
and added the pattern overlay and gradient using a layer style.
I lowered the opacity of the overlay.

It's not exact but it's how I would approach it.
