I presume that you considered other ways to put multiple images into a single file (ie, the title of this thread) such as an animated GIF, and that doesn't meet your needs, right?.

 

Obviously, an animated GIF can/will have a very different layout / aspect ratio and give a very different way to present the images to the viewer, but certainly is easy to do and may be useful for some applications


Load all files into layers in 1 step:

(Note: this could replace your 1st step in your workflow)


Make frames from layers:

If the final product absolutely has to be a very tall thin image, then I have a question: Are the aspect ratios of all the individual images all the same (even though their pixel dimensions may be different)?
