How to make this icon neater (higher quality)?

Some of the edges are very pixelated and I need this icon to be very high quality. What is the best way to do this?

Redraw it from scratch using the pen tool; or, use "Image Trace" in Adobe Illustrator.

I agree, though I would lean towards Pen Tool. Image Trace is very good, but even if you trace a straight line, the line will not be straight.

@SPWA - yes, Image Trace can give you some wiggly edges, but if one has an aversion to the pen tool, you can use Image Trace as a starting point to minimize your time with the pen: You simply delete any extraneous anchor points that are causing the wigglies, then, if necessary, readjust the few remaining ones. Also, in the latest version of AI, one can set parameters to achieve a nice compromise between very close tracing (which can give wiggly edges) and looser tracing.

you can use smudge tool for smooth edges and edge refine (select-edge refine/ alt+ctrl+r) for correction the edges after smoothing edges.
Note:- use duplicate layer, and place original layer to below.

After you have made your shape, you can save it as a custom shape for future use without having the rebuild it every time.
