how to open pdf file in photoshop cs2 with no squared background

plz help me how i open pdf file in photoshop for editing. when i open the pdf file in photoshop cs2 it opens with squared background which make me unable to edit
the text.how i open the pdf file with clear background like we open jpeg files.

if the pdfs were not saved with editing capabilities (layers) then your out of luck

To eliminate the background squares, click Preferences in the Edit menu, click Transparency and Gamut, then in Transparency Settings, Grid Size, select None. The background squares will then disappear.
