Just lots of images on new layers blended and lightened to match other images.

i lot of things i see people ask to replicate it mostly down to creative eye and practice.
if your not an artist/designer or one with experience your not going to achieve that sort of image.
you could have 2 poeple given the same images to comp togother and asked to create an interesting image out of them.
1 would look good like the one above but the other guys image could look like crap

I totally agree with the posters above. Creativity is not about the technique. The technique is a tool used to express creativity.

That said, however, this is not the type of style that can easily be imitated by a beginner. The above is a rich composition of layers upon layers upon layers, most of them very high quality images and blended just so. I counted 53 separate layers that I could actually identify (more than 10 in the water alone), and that doesn't include adjustment layers or filters or any that were so well blended that I couldn't pick them out.

My advice is to first learn how to stack your layers, what the blending modes do, and how to choose images. Once you learn those things you can achieve a similar result with practice, practice and more practice. Remember....this guy does this for a living and has a few more images under his belt than you do. Don't expect perfection the first time.

Good luck and happy photoshopping!
