I'm trying to design a logo logo2.png

What I did was made the rounded box and placed a white M on a layer on top of it. What I want to do is make it so that I can pretend that M isn't actual there. I want the space where the M is to be transparent so that when I put this logo on another background color, you will see the background color and not a white M. How do I erase what is under the M?

Do you have the ability to move the B and the D outward? They are too close to the (unseen) edges of the M. Do you know what font you used for the M?

Move the the B and D outward. Here I used guide lines to help me line up the letters.

If you still have the M or type you a new M on a new layer, place M over the the logo's M exactly using the Move Tool and/or the Transform function. Control/command + Click the M's thumbnail to make a selection of the M. Turn this layer off. Highlight the logos layer, hit delete. Control/command + D to deselect.

edit: Thought it needed some images.
