If I understand what you are asking, try this:
Use the marquee tool to make a rectangular selection around one of the objects.
Hold the Shift key on your keyboard and make rectangle selections around the other objects, until you have rectangular selections around all the objects you want.
Make a new layer
Invert your selection (Ctrl+Shift+i)
Set black as your foreground color if it's not already, then fill selection with foreground color (Alt+Backspace)
