Hey guys,

I'm new here and this is my first post so please be gentle!

I am designing a website for my girlfriends parents and we have been trying to save costs by taking our own pictures. Sadly we only have a little compact camera and I have done everything I can think of (slow shutter, using tripod etc) to get the best pictures I can.

The problem I am having is when taking pictures in-doors. The light through the windows kills the image and makes the image greyish and the windows are always totally blown out.

So I read about taking 2 of the same pictures (one focused out of the window and the other of the room) which is what I have done. Now here is my problem...I have two images, but am not sure what to do with them!

Could you please help me bring the two photos together and let me know the exact steps (including any brightening/exposure) so I don't have to bother you again!

Thanks so much, your help is VERY appreciated.

Jack.

(Ps if you were to have any tips with the taking of the picture in the first place please do tell me, thanks again)

Re: I am trying to get rid of blown out light from windows but failing! (using 2 imag

There are 2 simple solutions the easiest 1 being load the better 1 into photoshop and add an exposure adjustment layer so you can increase the exposureeverywhere apart from the window.

or option 2 is use the HDR feature where it will let you merge multiple exposures to give a more balanced look.

This is using the file > automate > merge to HDR pro option.

however the better quality your images are the better results you will get I just took the 1s from in post and never opened up the full res versions.
