Hello Everyone! This is my first time on this forum! So I am using Photoshop and I have made a 9 by 12 inches (300 dpi) image however when I save it for web and devices and transfer it to my other computer the size comes out to be alot smaller than 9 by 12 inches. Can anyone tell me what I can be missing Thankss!!!

the save for web devices might be the error it will probably reduce the dpi so instead of 300 pixels per inch it will be more like 72 pixels per inch I dont know what the maximum dpi is of the web image settings. Do you need to save for web device.

If you save it as a straight jpeg or png does it still shrink it

Web resolution is the same as screen resolution = 72 dpi.

If this is for print, do not use Save for Web and Devices, instead save it as a PSD. Most print applications such as Adobe InDesign can use the PSD directly.

If this is for web use, then check resolution in Image -> Image Size, it should be set to 72 DPI if you want the inches dimensions to be fairly accurate when used on the web. Keep in mind everyone has a different resolution on their monitor, so it's never going to be exactly the same size from one computer to another. Most web designers to not pay any attention to inches/cm etc. but rather just the actual pixel dimensions.
