Image turns red

Sometimes an when I open a text layer, the image (rgb, 8 bit) turns red and becomes unable to enter text.

I have searched for what I have done or not done and finf no differernce from other images.

Any ideas??

maybe you tried to use the horizontal type MASK -tool
in stead of horizontal type - tool
