Related to my last question which was to do with icon size in Photoshop and I have now got sorted.

My problem now is the tool size. Let me explain.

I recently had to upgrade my laptop to an Asus Zenbook running windows 11 and when I installed my copy of Photoshop CS5 on it there were a lot of problems due to the higher screen resolution amongst other things.

I'm 71 so didn't want to go down the subscription route as I only use it occasionally to do bits and pieces on family photos. So I managed to pick up a copy of CS6 Extended which I installed and after tweeking it to increase the icon size it's working perfectly. However the tool size are so small they are just specks.

I can work with it yes but is there any way of increasing the size so my old eyes can see it better?

I have attached a photo as an example and the little speck in the top left hand corner is the magnifying glass!

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Not sure if this works in CS5, but you can go to Edit > Preferences > Interface, toggle UI Font Size to Large, and check the box that says "Scale UI to Font". Then restart Photoshop.

Just learned that myself and changed the size - my old eyes could use the help...

It's actually CS6 I'm using not CS5 although I don't suppose there is much difference.

I followed your instructions up until the last one, check the box that says "Scale UI to Font". I'm afraid I don't have that box as you can see on the attached photo. IMG_6480.JPG

I'm on version 26.9 which would account for the difference in that dialog box. But most importantly - did the change work for you?

Another thought - would you invest in a separate monitor? I have a 26" Samsung monitor as an adjunct to my laptop and the additional real estate might be a help for you as well.

No it didn't work unfortunately.,

No I wouldn't be interested in a separate monitor, I was hoping there may be some in program tweak that someone had already come across.
