Ahhh!!!!!   Sorry kiwi... it's good in one way, but the other its totally not.  If I made that what I would do is make a new layer, merge everything onto the layer... duplicate the layer, make duplicated invisable.  With visable layer I'd desaturate... and then i would make the other layer visable (make sure its on top of the dessaturated layer).. and set it between 30-50% on opacity.    It looks ok, but I personally wanted the feathers as white as the face, and more greys and mysterious dark colours with little hints and touches of green algae.... not everything green.... I've never seen a marsh or swamp or bog look that filled with green slimey stuff. lol 

So It's good, but I want to give it a more freaky look, not no color... but not to much color... and I would make the grass look more like a hay color or have it greyscale.   I like what your exampled turned out like! I am not dissing what you think it could be like... but thats just not my theme of shades and colours... or at least for this piece
