Hi, im new in this community, and i hope i can learn a lot and try to share my knowledge about photoshop.

Today i whould be very happy if anyone can help me with the following problem:

I need to "improve" an image, its a logo and its a very simple design, the problem is that the original file was lost and now i only have a smaller version, but it only looks good if i use it on small size, but now i want it bigger,so i want to remove those jagged edges, i want a smooth and pixel-free curved lines.

The tool i want to use is Adobe Photoshop CS2 (9.0)

Here is a portion of the image i want to modify:

oh well i need more post to link an image so i will give u the link

"triple W""DOT"geocities.com/guardianwarriors/Sample.bmp

any suggestion about a way of using photoshop or any addon i should use is welcome.

pd: i think that the action i want to do has a specific name, but i cant remember it

EDIT: i think the word was vectorize? im not sure

The best possible solution would be to redraw it in Illustrator (yes, that would vectorize it).

Barring that, you could try a series of blur and sharpen filters along with Levels.

1. Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur > 1px
2. Image Adjustments > Levels
3. Bring the black and white sliders together and click OK
4. Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen Edges
You can try to repeat steps 1-4 but it might go too far for this particular image.

Another option: In Photoshop, it requires a bit more trickery

1. Redraw individual line segments with the pen tool (Paths button selected in the Control panel)
2. Save the Work Path in the Paths panel as a new name
3. Resize the file up (Image > Image Size); make it really big
4. Select the paths in the Paths panel (Load path as selection)
5. Create a new layer
6. Edit > Stroke
