matte paint effect

Interesting project - what I found was that depending on the image, ther e are several ways to make it work.
I did end up following this turorial:
Notes - in the laer blending mode, I used the darker option rather than the color mode on the solid fill layer. i also did a some quick cloning on the reflections in the paint.
I also added a light curves layer on the car only jsut to create more gloss vs matte contrast. I also overall masked out all windows, headlights, tires, license plate, and badge.
