If you use custom measurement scale PPI makes a huge difference.
Example is file 100x100cm, selection is 50x100cm.

1. Standard measurement scale with 100PPI
[ATTACH]64130[/ATTACH]
result = 7751953

2. Standard measurement scale with 72PPI
[ATTACH]64132[/ATTACH]
result = 4020030

3. Custom measurement scale ( 85px=3cm)
[ATTACH]64133[/ATTACH]
result = 5007 which I know is 0,5007m2
