You're quite the artist. I like the photorealism of your work, especially the camera.

DeviantArt is always such a PITA for me. I don't know if it's my ISP (probably DA's high server traffic), but put up your stuff on its own site. Geez they're free for portfilio sized sites.

This is to sCync. I frankly don't know much about doing what you suggested re: get my own site. They're free. How do I do that? I really wouldn't know where to start to look for one. I don't plan on doing any business via the web so it wouldn't pay for me to have a full blown site. Although I know flash, I have no idea how to build a site.
I design the graphics for a web sites, but that's all I can do. So I'm stuck with places like Devart for now. Thanks for the advise though.

Of course I didn't see any of the other contest entries, but your Linspire wallpaper images were Linspiring! I hope you won the contest. Your work is superb!

(the tiny crowd goes nuts!)

didn't win. didn't expect to. The winner was a guy that built something in Maya that rendered for 8.5 hours. Some sort of liquid chrome/mercury text with an obligitory transluscent sphere. I never saw so many spheres in my life (I even did one) Cracks me up how these people get these 3d programs and spend 2 years of their life making spheres. I really don't enter these contests to win. It's fun doing something that doesn't include a client, billing and getting paid. Just to do it for the fun of it. Which is why I post stuff on this, and other forums. It's just plain fun.

:D That's the PageCurl/LensFlare of 3D... a visual hackneyed cliche.

Win or not, you did some fine PS work on those images!

You're makin' me feel like a novice here. I acyually like 'lensflare". Oh well.

In the right place LensFlare is just fine. It is just used too often in the wrong circumstances so it has gotten a bad rap.

there's an image on this board, 'making a planet' where I used 'lensflare'
Take a peek at it. This would be one of the times I find it appropriate. Actually one of the few times....but I still like it

I saw that image and agree that the lens flare looks great the way you used it. Heck, I used it recently (a rare occurrence) in the making of an animated GIF out of Sheba's avatar in the 'Dissing Avatars' thread.
