Hello everyone!

So glad to take in new information.
Old time user (since version 2.5), and desperately need Photoshop updating.
Cureeently self employed - Photographer and Image Editor.

"So ya think you know Photoshop?" Ha Ha ha
There's always more .. .

At any rate - Hi !
John

Hi Paul!
When I said "So ya think you know Photoshop" I was speaking to myself, as in time to join a forum and get new insights!

I'm here to learn, and what I'm hoping to figure out right away is "How can I apply a texture (pattern) to an uneven surface (series of bar stools and other furniture)".
I'm going to post it as a question after making sure no one else has so I have to do some research here first.

Glad to join, talk soon!
John

Thank You!
So ... Here's what prompted me to join.

I realized in horror 2 hours ago (4:30 a.m. EST) while sleeping, that there MAY WELL BE a better way to do what my client is asking for.
I've got a large run of furniture pieces that need to have various color ways and patterns, applied to cushions.

I'd like to post links to show samples and apparently I need to post two more times before the server will let me .

Using supplied texture swatches...

My plan was to do this the old way - masking off areas (Top, Sides, Piping) and then drop in texture pattern and warp to fit general shape.

My question for the guru's - is there a faster way to do this ?
I've got quite a few of these to do...

Any help or insights, MUCH appreciated!!

Have you tried displacement maps? :)

See.. Now that's what I'm talking about.
Never heard of a displacement map.
Yes, I'm ashamed to say that.
Will look now for tuts on displacement maps and see if that fills the bill.

Thanks!
John
