I have been scanning for about 7 years with PS...Just noticed recently(PS7) that after each scanner appears.....via twain .....a small icon of sorts ( ? ) with the # 1 , next to it....appears in my upper left corner , of all my scans ...does not seem to affect any tools or operations..just wondering why this always appears,,,{not using layers, either}

thanks cjogo

Welcome the board cjogo hope you will enjoy. Just a little advice, please do not start a new thread for evey message. Post your question and after you receive a reply you can reply on the same thread.

cjogo: Hi, you can turn that off it if annoys you. Its just the default of the first slice of the slice capability.

A slice is a rectangular area of an image that you can use to create links, rollovers, and animations in the resulting Web page. Dividing an image into slices lets you selectively optimize it for Web viewing.

Please read your help menu under slices for an explaination of slices if you've never used them before. If you are doing web page design I recommend you read about them.
