I am a complete newbie to photoshop and I have a question.

In this website, bootb.com/es, I want to make a logo that looks like the one that says "para marcas". I love that pencil crayon, incomplete coloring look, and I was wondering how I can replicate that in Photoshop.

Thanks

I would do it in Photoshop the same way I would do it on paper - draw it with the brush tool. It would be easier with a pen tablet but it can be done with a mouse.

You mean I have to color in the bubbles by moving my mouse in rapid strokes? there isn't a program or a plugin to do this?

and I would add that if you draw your cloud outline first, ctl/cmd click on the layer thumbnail and leave the selection active while you draw your shading in. That will constrain the drawing so it will all be within the selected area. Or you can do it later as a clean-up, invert the selection and either clear it or mask it. Hope this helps.

Sorry if I'm asking too many questions. I was also wondering if there is a brush that you guys recommend me to use.

Thanks

No such thing as too many questions. :)

I would honestly just use a small round brush, with hardness at about 90-95%

one thing that people have to learn is that with photoshop, many effects need to be manually drawn in, so artistic talent is required.

don't expect this program to do everything automatically for you with menu commands, it doesn't work that way. don't be lazy and expect to go to edit/render/ etc etc and have photoshop do everything for you. if you're not an artist then you are severly limited before you even begin.

get down and dirty and start learning the ways to manually draw in the effects you want. this is the only way to achieve 50% of what photoshop can do. if you're lazy and just want to use the menu commands to whip something out in two minutes then you are finished.

If you’re going for that kind of style, I would just write it out in hand. Make sure to do it in a layer on top of your others so that it doesn’t interfere too much. I always loved that look though, maybe it’s the kid in me, maybe the artist, maybe even the mother in me, but I’m a sucker for crayon scribbles.
