Opening a .Gif file over an already open .Gif in Photoshop?

Hi, Gurus!

I'm trying to make some of my own gifs that were inspired by batmanrunningawayfromshit.tumblr.com

How can I make it that I have a gif open (like he does in his background) and I simply put the Batman and Robin gif over the background gif?

The problems I'm having is that
1) It either opens it as a new document, or as the single (first) layer on top of the animation/gif of the background.
2) I haven't done this yet as I've not figured out how to, but if I do get it done, how will Photoshop know there's a second 'animation'? Of course, these are transparent gifs, so I'll have to keep working on it.

Many thanks! :) (I'll keep you updated in the meantime.)

I deduce you are using CS... I hope I got your quwstion right.

Open the gif in the Animation Mode of CS. the gif woll load as frames like amovie reel.

click and drag the B&R imafe into the document . This will be treated by cS as a new layer .

OK... I didn't see that... lol
B&R was animated....

You'll notice that each as you click each frame in the animation gifs, the layer pallete will show what frame that is.

You have to isolate B&R from each of the frames in the original. These you have to drag individually above each frame/layer in the new animation. make the the B&W layer visible in the frame that is in play sequence.

I hope you understand what I mean....

PS.... I think I'll give that one my spin on it... lol...

Yes, thanks. I know what you mean.

I followed this, and I've got the gifs in. It keeps the one animation window, as I thought, and the layers were all there.
So I sorted them into groups, and they were 'over' the gif with the gif in the background (which are going by their frames).

Right now I'm sorting which layers of B&R to show in the frames (seems to be either too fast or too slow :frown:) but, thanks, you've helped me achieve what I'm trying to!

Thanks! :)

The PSD file was 19.6MB. The background image (taken from this video youtube.com/watch?v=3nLgKJX8m2w which was downloaded, then Imported>Videos Frames to Layers) was 16.5MB.
The final GIF size was 3.8MB or so (256 colours).

The UP house was chosen because it was the only thing I could think of that definitely had a scene on YouTube to download (I looked for it a couple of days ago for a computer wallpaper from the scene).

The final version seems to be a lot faster than the Photoshop preview, so I think the 1 layer per 3 frames would've been better than 1 layer per 2 frames. Not entirely sure.
Here's the link to the gif

Sorry for double posting. I can't see an 'Edit' button.
Anyway, to you or anyone who doesn't have it, here's where you can download the transparent Batman and Robin gif.
