So around 2011 when I first got into photoshop I was overlaying images on guitars to get ideas. I you tubed it and found tutorials that showed me exactly how to do it. They turned out good. 15 years later and many updates to photoshop (kids and work) without using it as much as I wanted I am not sure how to do this again. I am trying it again to no avail. Can someone point me to a tutorial and give me a rundown of how to do this now. I would assume it is much better this many years later. Thanks in adavance from a frustrated RE-newbie. Uploading a few examples. Background is just to add some context basically I was learning and went overboard511752997_10228932841971289_6207647607679358677_n.jpg

Hey. Welcome back.

It's no different than the way you learned back in 2013. Take a look here:

The procedure is still the same.
You must isolate all the guitars parts in separate layers using the Pen Tool or whatever tool or technique you're comfortable with.
These parts on a layer........

You must isolate the parts you want to overlay on it's own layer............

Then clip (clipping mask) the pattern layer to the parts layer. Here I used a copy of the pattern (also clipped) for the headstock which I moved with the move tool. So you will
see two pattern layers in the layers panel below..............

Turn on all layers. Finished!
