Hello fellow gurus,
Here is a question that arose in anticipation of the new 2013 Mac Pro machines. I wonder to which extent Photoshop (CC) can and will make use of
a) A second GPU core and
b) 6 instead of 3 GB VRAM which will be offered as an option.
Will it even make sense to double the VRAM - would this be even noticeable? I am trying to come to an understanding whether it is worth it to spend the extra $ for such upgrades.
It may be important to know that I use Photoshop professionally and regularly max out the capabilities of my current 8-core 2008 Mac Pro with upgraded graphic card (ATI Radeon HD 5770, 1GB VRAM) as I like working in high resolutions and insane numbers of layers. With a new machine I may also venture a bit more into the 3D terrain (in photoshop and other programs).
Thanks for your input in advance.
