Using painter wheel and I have googled this and not got an answer . I have painted my gradient in for the sky back ground and then used the lasso tool to line in some mountains on a separate layer.

My question is how do I pick a colour that is already down on the canvas/plate ?

Would be great to know this now and I intend on doing some matte painting in the near future :)

Thanks

Click here on the foreground color, and your color picker will open, mouse over any color you wish to sample (cursor will turn into eyedropper) then click once. Hit OK on the color picker when done.

Oh, and if your using the Brush Tool, just hit the option/alt key at any time, the cursor will turn into the eyedropper, click once and the sampled color will become your foreground color.

Sorry, it may not work with Painters Wheel, I thought you were referring to the Native Color Picker in Photoshop.
