Problem opening and saving PNG files

Hello,
I have photoshop CS5.1 for a long time.
I have created and edited lots of PNG files.
In the last day I cant save PNG files at all ( akk RGB and 8 bit ).
The odd thing is I cant open PNG files that I created and edited a week ago.
I have an error window that say:
"Could not complete you request because it is not the right kind of document"

IDK, but 2 things you might try:

Go to your library, right click on the png and choose open with photoshop.

The other thing you could try is resetting your preferences.

If neither works, reinstall PS?

I would imagine other members with more tech know how will have ideas.
