The box was unchecked for 32 Bit when I was having the problems originally. Does that then mean that PS was running in the 64 bit mode? I'm not sure. In thread #11, Hawkeye said this:


"If you have a 64 bit system, when you install Photoshop it installs both  32 bit and the 64 bit versions. The same on Windows. In this case I  think it means 32 bit mode for the file, not the program. (8-16-32 bit  mode)."


I have not altered anything else since this problem started, so I'm running PS however it sets itself up by default. And I don't know how you check to see if you're running 32 or 64 bit system. I think I've already said it, I'm not real sharp (yet) on the computer side of things.


Hopefully I've answered your question, but I have a feeling I have not.
