You need to reverse your selection. I mentioned that in my tutorial. I did not think I needed to explain any further. 





When you have a selection, deleting will remove anything within that selection.

So.........if your selection looks like this......

[ATTACH]64321[/ATTACH]


....and you hit delete. This is the result.

[ATTACH]64322[/ATTACH]


This is not what you want.


This is the reversed selection.

Notice there are marching ants on the inside as well as the outside.

[ATTACH]64323[/ATTACH]


As shown by the red area, everything within the selection will be deleted.

[ATTACH]64324[/ATTACH]


So when you hit delete, your result will be this......

[ATTACH]64325[/ATTACH]
